The Homeopathic Practitioners Association of Ghana has enthusiastically congratulated Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Manso on his appointment as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), effective July 14, 2025.

This development marks a pivotal moment for Ghana’s healthcare system, and the homeopathic community has compelling reasons to celebrate this appointment.

Speaking on behalf of the Homeopathic Practitioners Association of Ghana, the National President-Adu Boateng articulated the profession’s confidence in Professor Frimpong-Manso’s ability to transform the FDA.

His statement highlighted three crucial qualifications: an impressive wealth of experience, unparalleled expertise, and visionary leadership capabilities. These qualities position him ideally to elevate the FDA’s standing as Ghana’s premier regulatory body.

Dr. Boateng emphasised that Professor Frimpong-Manso assumes leadership during a critical juncture for public health.

His distinguished career in pharmaceutical sciences and public health could not be more relevant, coming at a time when the nation needs robust regulatory oversight, uncompromising commitment to public health safety, and bold innovation in medicine.

The COVID-19 pandemic taught us that regulatory bodies must be both vigilant and adaptable – qualities Professor Frimpong-Manso has consistently demonstrated throughout his career.

The Association’s pledge of full support and collaboration deserves particular attention. Their emphasis on integrating complementary and alternative medicine, especially homeopathy, into Ghana’s healthcare framework presents a golden opportunity.

As a renowned academic and regulatory expert, Professor Frimpong-Manso is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between conventional and alternative medicine.

Stakeholders across health, pharmaceutical, and traditional medicine sectors have already welcomed his appointment, anticipating tangible improvements in regulatory policies, quality control measures, and most importantly, public trust in food and drug safety.

The leadership structure of the Homeopathic Practitioners Association, comprising Dr. Adu Boateng of Endpoint Homeopathic Clinic (National President), Dr. Alex Kwame Appiah of Gewah Hospital (Vice President), and Dr. Ackah of Heartbeat Homeopathy (Secretary), stands united in their support.

Dr. Boateng’s concluding remarks perfectly captured this sentiment, wishing the new Acting CEO a successful tenure while reaffirming the Association’s unwavering commitment to collaborative progress in healthcare delivery.
