Popular Ghanaian actor, musician, and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, once again showed his compassionate side during a recent visit to the bustling Adum Market in Kumasi.
The visit, which was part of a promotional tour for the premiere of his much-anticipated movie, Captain Ibrahim Traore (The Last African Hero), turned unexpectedly emotional after a tragic incident involving a local yam seller.
The market visit was meant to generate excitement and connect with fans ahead of the movie’s official release.
However, the celebration came to a pause when news spread that a yam seller had lost her daily sales and some personal money in the crowd.
The woman, identified only as Beatrice Kankam, was in tears after discovering that her bag containing over GH₵2,000 — proceeds from her day’s sales and capital — had gone missing amidst the excitement.

Touched by her distress, Lil Win did not hesitate to offer help. In a gesture that drew applause and admiration from onlookers, the actor personally gifted the distraught woman a sum of GH₵3,000 in cash, helping to restore her lost capital.
“I came here to spread joy and promote something meaningful to our people — a story about African pride. I didn’t expect something like this to happen, but when I saw the woman’s pain, I knew I had to act,” Lil Win said.
The emotional moment was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, with fans praising the actor for his humility and generosity.
Lil Win’s new film, Captain Ibrahim Traore (The Last African Hero), is a tribute to the young and fearless Burkinabè leader, and promises to offer a powerful cinematic narrative about African strength, sacrifice, and resistance against oppression.
The premiere is set to take place at the Kumasi SG Mall Cinema this weekend and will feature appearances by several Ghanaian and international high profiled personalities.
Many Ghanaians are already commending Lil Win not just for his creativity in filmmaking, but also for using his platform to uplift and support ordinary people.
